About Us

Our mission is to cultivate a collaborative community of local growers and buyers by offering a centralized market that provides a sustainable alternative to imported flowers with high quality, seasonal, specialty cut flowers.

Our offerings include a weekly wholesale availability listing through Rooted Farmers, and a weekly wholesale market from mid June through September. We also have retail flower subscriptions in the shoulder seasons, along with DIY buckets for restaurants and events. These offerings are coordinated by our Collective managers and sourced from our various growers.

We devote a lot of time to nurturing relationships with our buyers and growers. Doing so fosters healthy sales avenues and cultivates diverse, quality product. We carefully consider the alignment of our grower and buyer partnerships in order to retain the caliber and cohesiveness of our offerings.

Our Story

Co-founder Sally Obremski started selling flowers to local florists out of her cut flower garden in 2018. After tagging along with Mary Beth Ferro Floral Designs’ team to the Floral Reserve in 2019, Sally was inspired to start a wholesale market back on Nantucket. Sally spent many years drafting business plans, researching other flower collectives, and trying to figure out who else was growing cut flowers on island.

It became clear that the demand for local flowers was being met, but in an unorganized way. Dedicated florists were driving from plot to plot buying individually from growers. In hopes to streamline the process, a meeting was held with all members of Nantucket’s floral trade as a means of figuring out how to work together. Co-founder Abergavenny Webb volunteered to take on the project of developing a centralized market with Sally and thus, the Nantucket Flower Collective came to be.

Established in 2023, the market started out with five committed grower members. We are pleased to say that this growing year of 2025, we have fourteen grower members and have established lasting relationships with many dedicated buyers.
